Family Support Services
Domestic Violence Help:
Family Support Services (FSS) focuses on providing life-saving domestic violence services for residents of Corona, CA. Launched in January 2016, the program offers support to our clients in immediate or imminent danger of being hurt by an intimate partner or to children who are abused, neglected or have witnessed family violence. Participation in our program is open to all women, men, and their children. All of Corona-Norco United Way's programs are free of charge. There is no discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, language, disability, religion, national origin, medical condition, marital status, veteran status, or sexual orientation.
This program strives to:
Our clients come first, and they are the main focus of our work. Women, men, and children victimized by domestic violence have been at the heart of the Anti-Domestic Violence Movement for many years. Because of that, we rely profoundly on their experiences to guide our efforts. We value and uphold the right of each client to self-determination by assisting them to recognize, define, and set their own goals.
Significance and Value of the Person
We respect the innate significance and value of each person. Multiple factors shape the complexity of a person's response to domestic violence. Therefore, we approach each person in a caring, and considerate manner, mindful of personal differences, cultural, and ethnic diversity as each person is unique with their own responses.
We act genuinely and responsibly, and we promote ethical methods in our intercommunications with partnered organizations. We also promote the personal duty and accountability of staff/board/volunteers within the setting of the work context.
This program offers these useful tools:
- Parenting classes.
- Support groups.
- Connect you to local shelters and legal advocates.
