COVID-19 Direct Assistance
There is no doubt that COVID-19 has impacted everyone to some degree, and has been especially prevalent in our community. Household have been faced with food insecurity, job loss, reduction of hours, poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, mental health concerns, illness and insome cases death. However, despite the tumultuous year, many have found it in their hearts to donate in order to support those most in need. As a non-profit organization, we accepted these donations and disbursed 100% of the funds back into the community. In total, we provided Direct Financial Assitance to 185 households and 17 local non-profit organizations totaling $327,500! These donations were transferred into a check and given to households, via a "drive-thru" in June 2020. These households were selected through a points-based methodology that considered need, size of household, employment status, and additional special needs.
In addition, the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence awarded us $1,400 in Wal-Mart gift cards to support domestic violence survivors during COVID-19 whihc resulted in total of 40 cards issued!
We are so thankful for all the donations and the impact they have in our community!
