The Corona-Norco United Way is proud to announce our new Children's Wellness Program. Thanks to Project Kids and other generous donors, our new center is explicitly focused on children that have witnessed or been affected by domestic violence. This great new center offers such programs as:
- Advocates provide workshops on developing positive coping mechanisms, bullying, internet safety, and teen dating violence.
- Advocates help children explore their emotions, discover alternatives to violence, and constructively handle their anger.
- Tutoring services.
- Homework Club.
Child Abuse Treatment Program
The Child Abuse Treatment Program (CHAT) provides no-cost counseling and case management services to children from 4 to 18 years of age who have endured abuse, negligence or violence in their homes, schools or communities. Our counselors employ a form of trauma-informed care to discuss the consequences of trauma and aid the healing of each child in a sensible manner.
