The Corona-Norco United Way, through the generosity of community contributions, financially supports our partner agencies, which in turn allows them to concentrate on their primary mission.
Advancing the Common Good: Creating Opportunities for a Better Life for All
Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.
That’s why United Way’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:
-
Education: helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potentia
Some 80 percent of United Ways are making children a focus – in funding, community change work and policy advocacy. Many are doing it with Success By 6® coalitions, galvanizing communities to raise awareness of early learning, support families, and push for programs, budgets and laws improving young children's lives.
-
Income: Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
As many as one-third of working Americans do not earn enough money to meet their basic needs. These individuals are walking a financial tightrope — they are barely able to get by, with no ability to save for college, a home, or for retirement. The United Way Financial Stability Partnership™ was created to help lower-income individuals and families increase and maximize their income in order to meet daily expenses, as well as to begin the longer-term process of saving and building assets.
-
Health: Improving People’s Health
United Way addresses pressing health and healthcare issues facing communities across the country. Community by community, United Ways and their partners target childhood obesity, health insurance coverage, healthcare quality, childhood immunizations, substance abuse, family violence, oral health or other healthcare concerns voiced by their community.
Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child success in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy.
United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.
